Improved Wet Palette and Quartermaster

Last night I painted the Quartermaster from Gloomhaven. After seeing the benefits of the wet palette, I wasn’t going back. So I went out and bought some white Swedish sponge (Those cleaning cloths made of cellulose fiber). I used this instead of the paper towels I used last time. I must say this wasn’t a clear improvement over paper towels. With paper towels I felt like the paints were getting thinned, but they never really dried. With the Swedish sponge the paints stayed consistent for a long time, but they dried up in the end. I think I will stick with the Swedish Sponge setup.

As for the mini, well it took longer than I anticipated. I went to bed at 1 AM… It was a meditative experience as always.

Finished Painting the Zombies of Zombicide: Black Plague

I have been slowly working on the zombicide minis. Finally this week I finished painting the regular zombies and fatties. All that remains are the special infected and the heroes. I guess the game will be ready to play by summer.

    Two Minis in One Go

Today I painted two Gloomhaven minis, the spell weaver and eclipse. Both were depicted as night scenes in the character art, so I choose a simple wash based approach for both. The figures were primed with zenithal highlighting earlier, so the washes just gave the atmosphere for the minis. Eclipse was no frills, just some…
