Spaces You Left
After a tough break up, I spent some sleepless nights writing mediocre poetry, as one does… We shared a love for Rumi, and the opening is a homage to a shared reference to “A Great Wagon”.
Spaces You Left
We met in a field,
beyond wrong and right.
The world was so full.
There was no room for words.
Now we are apart.
My mind is full of words.
None worth uttering.
None to make a difference.
Now you are gone.
What difference does it make
if I say I love you?
You knew it all along.
I say it anyway.
To the empty rooms.
To your side of bed.
To the spaces you left.
