The multicolor 3D printing is becoming more common. Bambulabs and their AMS, and Creality with CFS, we see a proliferation of multicolor printing. I do not have a multicolor printer. Over the years, I have dabbled with printing in multiple filament. I did this using a few hacks. Simplest one is to start the print…
In Denmark nothing can be said to be certain, except cake and taxes.
Most men buy a motorcycle or a convertible in their mid life crisis, maybe get a young girlfriend. I opted for a 3D printer. Then proceeded to ask: “What do I do with this thing?” I did have a few projects around the house, but eventually it became clear that the 3D printer was a…
I learned about Paradise Lost in my twenties when I came across this quote in a Whitewolf manual (I think… or maybe it was an issue of FRP & Magic?). Which way I fly is hell; myself am hell; And in the lowest deep a lower deep, Still threat’ning to devour me, opens wide, To…
As the girls grew older they didn’t relate to the adventures of Monkey and Ferret sisters any more. So I wrote this one with the daring duo as the protagonists. The story was influenced a lot by what I was reading at the time. I am sure the bike that made horse sounds came from…
I’m a big fan of Jon Stewart, and I watched his recent interview with Oren Cass (see here). While it was interesting, I was surprised Jon couldn’t point to any clear examples of American “soft power.” Maybe it’s hard to recognize this from inside the US, given its advantages. It is easy for the rest…
I had a varied career. I have been lucky that my interests led me to opportunities in cutting edge of technology and business. I worked as a researcher/professor in universities on three continents, worked as a data scientist supporting a major R&D department, finally I led the cybersecurity efforts in a scale-up in critical infrastructure….
As I get older, I become more cranky. What used to excite me now frustrates me. Chief among these frustrations is social media. Once I poked my friends mercilessly on Facebook, now I can’t stand TikTok or Instagram. I no longer have any social media, and it makes life hard, as everything from poetry slams…
I wrote this one to tell my girls that I wouldn’t change a thing, so long as I had them in my life.
This was right after I separated from my ex-wife. I wrote this story to explain to my kids, why I left, and what it meant for us.
I have two kids, and since they were born I have been telling them stories about Monkey Girl and Ferret Girl. Over the years, the stories evolved to include myself and our friends and neighbors. After my divorce from their mother, I started writing them in little notebooks. I plan to put some of them…
No it is not a sequel to a horror movie. It is a directive from EU (Directive 2022/2555) that was supposed to increase the security standards for essential and important entities. You can find the full text here (Thank you EU!). The directive is quite tick and not every part of it applies to everyone….
There was a lot of frustration after Elon Musk purchased Twitter. He quickly eroded moderation on the platform, and made some questionable decisions. This month there was an uproar over third party app support in Reddit. What is going on? Both CEO’s are basing their decisions on the need to turn a profit. The platform…
The inuit have 100 words for snow. The Danes have 100 words for cake.
I taught my first class back in 2009. I have taught many classes since. I think something I quickly learned was everybody had a better experience when I was enjoying myself. So I did things that made the class more fun for me. Things like explaining cryptography through Shakespeare, use case diagrams via method of…
First mini in 10 months.
I got certified as CISSP this week. The preparation was grueling. So much material to cover. The exam itself was fair, but the test questions in the beginning were really weird. I was at first a bit taken a back but then onve the 25 test questions were out of the way it was smooth…
So about a month ago, I decided it was time to get certified. I had been doing this work, and teaching this content for some years now and thought a certificate would be a good way to demonstrate the skills to potential employers. I registered for the security+ exam and got the bundle with 2…
After building the dactyl, I took a long break from building keyboards. In that time I noticed, no matter how awesome dactyl was, I still needed to lift my hand up to use the mouse. So I started dreaming about a keyboard with an integrated trackball. My dreams came true when I ran into Charybdis.
This week the conditions aligned, and I got to use two new (to me) technologies: Vader Sentiment Analysis and Copilot. It was a fortuitous coincidence that these two technologies came together, as their combined power was able to break me out of my comfort zone and still be productive.
Our new paper with Philipp and Hakan is just published in MISQE. For me, it is the culmination of work I have been doing since I wrote my first Steam scripts in 2014… I was very lucky in terms of my extremely talented co-authors, thanks to them years of confusion was distilled into this practitioner…
